God and Politics: Four Views on the Reformation of Civil Gov’t

I’d like to pick this book up. It was published in 1989, and is being republished by P&R. Typically four viewpoint books don’t cut it because the guy who represents your view says something you disagree with, or doesn’t say something you think is essential, however this book has 16 contributors representing 4 views on God and Politics!

Book blurb: 16 contributors represent four positions on the biblical role of civil government. Originally delivered at a consultation on that topic, each of the four major papers is presented by a leading representative of that view and is followed by responses from the three other perspectives. The result is a vigorous exchange of ideas aimed at pinpointing areas of agreement and disagreement and equipping God s people to serve him more effectively in the political arena.

God and Politics: Four Views on the Reformation of Civil Government :

Contributors include:

Joseph N. Kickasola responds to Christian America
Gary DeMar responds to National Confessionalism

Principled Pluralism: Gordon J. Spykman
Paul G. Schrotenboer responds to Theonomy
James W. Skillen responds to Christian America
Gary Scott Smith responds to National Confessionalism

Christian America: Harold O.J. Brown

John Eidsmoe responds to National Confessionalism

National Confessionalism: William Edgar

David M. Carson responds to Principled Pluralism
D. Howard Elliott responds to Christian America

I also noticed that William Edgar’s [who is an RPCNA minister in the Broomall RPC congregation in PA] article defending the National Confessionalism position is free to download at Westminster Seminary bookstore

I look forward to reading this book.
